All food items have their benefits and nutritional values. Under ideal living conditions and perfect daily work routine no food can harm you but we also know that technological advancements have reduced our energy consumption and limited our movement . Here are few food item that are really good for your health under any living environment or working conditions .

1. Eggs

Eggs and Egg yolks are responsible for lots of nutrients, some of which include Choline. Choline is wonderful for women especially because it is linked to lower rates of breast cancer. Though heart patients are recommended to not eat the whole of the egg, there’s actually plenty evidence that for most people, eggs are not harmful but very healthy! It is true that people with heart disease should only have egg yolks only twice a week, but according to research eggs do not raise your risk of heart attack or stroke.

2. Yogurt

Yogurt is the perfect way to get calcium; it is rich in it and rich in immune-boosting bacteria. Dieticians now recommend that people chose Greek yogurt instead of the regular yogurt, because that way they get twice the protein. Look for fat-free versions of any food prove most healthy.

3. Milk (fat free or skimmed)

There is no better substitute for calcium than milk. Not only does calcium makes bones strong, but they also help fight fat. Milk also has vitamin D in it, which has plenty of nutrients. It also is beneficial in the following:

· Reduced risk of heart disease

· Prevention of some types of cancer

· Relieve back pain

· Prevention in depression.

For lactose intolerant people milk can be a difficult option but if you can eat ice cream and not have glass of milk then you need to change your priorities. Soy milk or almond milk is not a milk alternate its just something white that may look like a milk but has a completely different nutritional value. Farm produced organic milk is always better that carton milk. You can always add flavor and water to change milk's taste.

4. Salmon

Salmon is another beneficial food source that is rich source of vitamin D. Along with benefits discussed above; vitamin D also has these added benefits:

· Improves skin

· Aids in weight loss

· Boosts mood

· Reduce effects of arthritis.

Along with Vitamin D, Salmon has Omega-3s. They aid in fewer intakes of calories, as they slow the rate of digestion, and give the feeling of ‘fullness’.

If salmon is not available go for any other fish but change the way you cook your fish instead of deep frying, try steaming it or grilling it. Keep your recipe as simple as you can. Fresh lemon is always a good combination with fish.

5. Broccoli

Broccoli may not taste very good, and children may be put off by the vegetable,but its is very good for the body and has lots of vitamin C, Carotenoids, Vitamin K and folic acid.

According to recent studies, “Pick any life-threatening disease—cancer, heart disease, you name it—and eating more broccoli and its cruciferous cousins may help you beat it”.

Green cauliflower is not a broccoli make sure you are buying the correct vegetable. Always have fresh vegetables for your meal. Food that go bad after sometime are good for health(fruits, vegetables) and food that never go bad (commercial butter, jams etc) are not good for health .

6. Nuts

“Eating 1½ ounces of tree nuts daily can reduce your risk of heart disease and diabetes. An ounce of almonds has as many heart-healthy polyphenols as a cup of green tea and 1/2 cup of steamed broccoli combined; they may help lower LDL cholesterol as well.”- USDA researchers.

Out of the nut family, Walnuts are rich in omega-3s. Hazelnuts contain an amino acid which helps in lowering blood pressure.

7. Watermelon

Watermelon is one of the healthiest fruits and has plenty of benefits for the human body. It is packed with nutrients and vitamins A and C, potassium, and lycopene. It is absolutely the best fruit to snack on, and aids in losing weight as well.

9. Apples

Apple is absolute king of fruits; remember how an apple a day keeps the doctors away. According to many health studies, apple reduces the risk of death from heart disease, lowers the risk of lung cancer and type 2 diabetes, not only this it also aides in weight loss.

10. Mangoes

Mangoes have the maximum benefit to be reaped out of vitamin C, because according to health studies conducted in America, a small portion full fills a day’s requirement of vitamin C. To add to this it also full fills 1/3 of a day’s vitamin A requirement, alongside producing blood-pressure-lowering potassium, and 3 grams of fiber.

Honey

Best natural remedy for inflammation and healing, honey has been a major part of natural preventive medicine for centuries. Different researches show that honey is very effective in healing and prevention digestive issues like GERD and Gastric Infections. Honey is more effective when used with warm water and lemon. There are hundreds of natural herbal remedies that contain honey as key ingredients.

Olive is not just a fruit it's a magic healing fruit. Olive and olive products can help you like a healthy and active life. Use of olive in daily life will keep heart diseases at an arms length.
